Shipping Methods

Egghead Kids offers many types of shipping services via UPS and USPS. Not all services are available to all addresses, depending on the particular carrier. To determine what carriers and services are available to your shipping address, begin the checkout process and enter your address on the Shipping page. All available services will be presented.


UPS

UPS delivery days include Monday through Friday (Saturday dellivery is available for an additional charge, and the order must be phoned-in). If your order was shipped via UPS, you will receive an email from UPS that gives you the estimated delivery dates as well as tracking information. The map below provides an estimate of transit days for UPS ground shipments. UPS cannot deliver to military addresses or PO boxes. For those, use USPS.

UPS Ground (1-5 days)

Guaranteed, date-scheduled (see map below for typical transit days), cost-effective delivery typically in one to five days, with full tracking. For more information, see ups.com.

UPS 3 Day Select (3 days)

Guaranteed delivery by the end of the third business day within the 48 contiguous states, with full tracking. For more information, see ups.com.

UPS 2nd Day Air (2 days)

Guaranteed delivery by the end of the second business day, with full tracking. Some locations in Alaska and Hawaii require additional transit time. Destinations include all 50 states and Puerto Rico, with some limitations in Alaska and Hawaii. For more information, see ups.com.

UPS Next Day Air Saver (1 day)

Guaranteed next business day delivery by end of day for residential destinations, and next business day delivery by 3:00 or 4:30 p.m. where UPS Next Day Air® delivery is committed by 10:30 a.m. or 12:00 noon, respectively, with full tracking. For more information, see ups.com.

UPS Next Day Air (1 day, by 10:30 am)

Guaranteed next business day delivery by 10:30 a.m., 12:00 noon, or end of day, depending on destination, with full tracking. Destinations include all 50 states and Puerto Rico, with some limitations in Alaska and Hawaii. For more information, see ups.com.

UPS Next Day Air early AM (1 day, by 8:00 am)

Guaranteed next business day delivery by 8:00 a.m. to major cities in the 48 contiguous states, with full tracking. Delivery by 8:30 or 9:00 a.m. to most other U.S. cities, including Anchorage, Alaska. Delivery by 10:00 a.m. to additional locations. For more information, see ups.com.

USPS

USPS delivery days include Monday through Saturday. Military addresses (APO/FPO) to any of the "military states" can only be delivered via USPS. Also, only USPS can deliver to PO boxes.

USPS Priority Mail (typically 2-3 days)

Delivery on average of 2 to 3 days, but with no guarantee and limited tracking. For more information, see usps.com.

USPS Express Mail (1-2 days)

Guaranteed next-day and second-day delivery nationwide, depending on destination, and has limited tracking. For more information, see usps.com.

USPS Priority Mail International (typically 6-10 business days)

Delivery on average of 6 to 10 business days, but with no guarantee and limited tracking. For more information, see usps.com.

Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are based on the weight of the order. Large orders, or orders with large items may become considered "oversize" by the carrier and cost more than usual. Some items, due to their weight or bulkiness may have to be shipped separately and will potentially cost more than usual. These items are typically indicated as such in this web site. Whenever possible, all items are combined in one box to reduce shipping costs. We do not charge per item fees.

Order Processing Times

All orders are shipped either the same day or next business day, depending on what time your order was placed. Generally, orders placed by noon CST are shipped the same day.

We make every attempt to ship expedited and overnight shipments the same day as ordered, but this will depend on the order time and last pick-up times for the carrier being used.

Egghead Kids cannot be responsible for delays caused by the shipping carriers. We will make every attempt to help the shipping carrier resolve shipping delays.

Reviewing or Changing Orders

You may review your order by logging into your account and choosing "My Orders" from the "My Account" menu. To see an order detail, choose “view”. From this page you can see when your order shipped, the estimated delivery time and any tracking numbers available.

To add to or modify an order, please contact us for assistance. We cannot guarantee that the change can be made before your order ships.

Return Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Original and return shipping charges will be included in the refund only if the return was the result of our error.

Items that do not meet our returns guidelines will receive only partial refunds:

  • Any unopened media item or non-media item in original condition that is returned more than 30 days after delivery: 80% of item's price.
  • Any item that is not in its original condition, is damaged, or is missing parts for reasons not due to our error: up to 50% of item's price.

Items that are not returnable:

  • Any book that has obvious signs of use.
  • Any CD, DVD, VHS tape, software, video game, cassette tape, or vinyl record that has been opened (taken out of its plastic wrap).

If you returned only one item from a multi-item shipment, you will be reimbursed only for the per-item shipping fee for the item you returned and not the per-shipment fee.

Refunds

We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item. In most cases, we’ll issue a refund in the same form of payment originally used for the purchase within 3 to 5 business days of our receiving your return.

Exchanges

If you received a faulty item and need to exchange it for the same item, email billing@eggheadkids.com to request a replacement. If you would like to exchange an item for a different one, please return the original item (you will be refunded your original purchase price once we receive the item) and place another order for the item you wish to purchase. You do not have to wait for us to receive the original item before placing the new order.

Packing and Sending Your Return
  1. Pack the items along with the packing slip (receipt) securely in a box. You can use the box the items arrived in or another box, if you prefer. If you do not have the packing slip, see Reviewing or Changing Orders and print a new copy.
  2. Affix the shipping label to the outside of the box.
  3. Leave the package for your mail carrier to pick up, or take it to a post office or shipping center.

Please note that return mailing labels obtained by emailing billing@eggheadkids.com are valid for domestic returns only. In addition, if you use a mailing label provided by us and your return is not the result of our error, the shipping cost of that returned item will be deducted from your refund.

Gifts

Egghead Kids will ship your item as a gift. Please email us the name and address of the recipient as well as any message you would like included in the package.

Returning a Gift

If you want to return an item that was given to you as a gift and you do not have the packing slip, you can also return it by emailing billing@eggheadkids.com; however, we will need to know the name of the person who purchased the gift for you. We will issue you a store credit for the purchase price of the gift or if you so request, may refund the customer who purchased the gift to their original method of payment.

Sales Tax

Sales tax of 8.25% is charged for all orders shipped to Texas.
